I had the foolish thought one moment that I missed college life. Than came the opportunity that I needed a few more credits to recertify for teaching. I therefore signed up for a creative writing course. Needless to say it is kicking my butt..... Here is an example of a short-short story I turned in for one of my assignments.
Cassidy
Cassidy groaned as her stomach stopped flipping. She rested her forehead against the cool brick outside the classroom door. It felt good on her hot, wet face. Her head hurt from crying. She tried to ignore the growing nausea in her stomach. The teacher stood with her hands on her hips at the door.
“Why would you do a thing like that?” asked the irritated teacher.
“I don’t know,” mumbled the girl next to Cassidy. She twisted her brown hair in knots and fixed her eyes on the carpet….
Earlier that morning, Cassidy nervously walked into the room at the end of the hall. She was new to Butte View Elementary. Most kids were busy putting their name magnets under the lunch menu and sitting down to start their morning work. A brown haired girl held a magnet just out of reach of a small boy and laughed. Cassidy quietly hung up her backpack as the teacher called the students to order.
“Cassidy will you join me at the front of the room,” smiled the teacher.
Timidly Cassidy walked to the front board and turned to face the class.
“Class, I would like to introduce our newest student, Cassidy. I know you’ll make her feel welcome,” announced the teacher as she gently ushered Cassidy to her seat. The teacher walked to the board and began the morning’s reading lesson. Everyone quickly got to work. The morning went fairly smooth for Cassidy. She watched the others closely so she would get the right books and open to the right pages. She was exhausted by recess from trying to keep up.
Outside the ground was wet. The air was filled with the scent of spring rain. Cassidy scanned the playground. It was littered with children and small, pink worms. Cassidy laughed at the girls running away from the group of worm touching boys.
“Hey! Cassidy! I dare to you eat a worm,” called out the brown haired girl from class. Nearby classmates heard the dare and rushed over to the two girls.
“Yeah, I bet you won’t eat one,” called one boy.
“Come on, do it,” encouraged another.
Cassidy stared at the worms crawling on the ground by her feet. They looked so gross. She bent down and carefully picked one up between her thumb and forefinger. She lifted the squiggling worm closer to her face. More children joined the crowd starting a chant.
“Eat it! Eat it! Eat it!”
Cassidy scrunched her nose and watched the worm. She desperately wanted to be cool and have friends. It is only a tiny, little worm, she thought. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes. She dropped the pink worm into her mouth. A loud “ew” echoed across the playground. Two quick bites and Cassidy swallowed.
There. Now I’m cool, she thought as the recess bell rang. Now I have friends. She could already feel her stomach flip-flopping and tears trickling down.
I hope you like it. By the way....I hope the copywrite so nobody but steal it. kay :)

Hey, I read this one a few times :) It sounds really good!
I like your description. It really makes me not want to eat any worms anytime soon ever. Did you get a good grade on this?
